Description

A traditional Asian dessert made with mung beans, lightly sweetened, and served warm or chilled. This comforting dish is easy to make and naturally gluten-free.


Ingredients

1 cup mung beans (soaked for 4 hours)
5 cups water
½ cup rock sugar or palm sugar
2 pandan leaves (optional, tied into a knot)
½ cup coconut milk (optional, for creaminess)


Instructions

1️⃣ Rinse and drain the soaked mung beans.
2️⃣ Bring water to a boil, add mung beans and pandan leaves.
3️⃣ Simmer on low for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4️⃣ Once beans are soft, add sugar and stir until dissolved.
5️⃣ For a creamy version, stir in coconut milk at the end.
6️⃣ Remove pandan leaves and serve warm or chilled.

Notes

✔ Add more water if you prefer a thinner consistency.
✔ For a sweeter taste, adjust sugar to preference.
